Free ADA Compliance Checker — Audit Your Business Signage in 2 Minutes

The ADACheck checker walks you through a short, industry-specific questionnaire and returns a numeric compliance score (0–100), a letter grade (A–F), and a prioritized list of fixes with the exact ADA regulation cited for each issue. No account, credit card, or email is required to start, and you can view the full report on the screen the moment it's generated.

How the checker works

  1. Tell us about your business — name, type (restaurant, retail, medical office, hotel, salon, gym, school, government building, or other), state, and address. State selection ensures we apply the right overlays (California Title 24, Texas Accessibility Standards, New York City Local Law, etc.).
  2. Upload photos (optional) — our AI Vision review can flag obvious sign defects from photos of your storefront, restroom, parking lot, and main entrance.
  3. Answer the questions — about 25–40 yes/no questions covering restrooms, parking, entrances, exits, interior signage, wayfinding, and emergency systems. Each question has a "?" tooltip with visual examples of compliant vs. non-compliant signage.
  4. Get your score — instant report with breakdown by category, every failed item with its ADA citation, estimated remediation cost, and an option to receive verified quotes from local ADA sign shops.

What the score actually means

The score is weighted by enforcement priority. Restroom signage, accessible parking, and primary-entrance access carry the highest weights because they account for over 80% of DOJ enforcement actions and ADA lawsuits. A score of 85 or higher generally indicates substantive compliance with the 2010 ADA Standards. Below 75 indicates one or more material gaps that could trigger penalties under 42 U.S.C. § 12188(b)(2).

State-specific overlays

The ADA sets a federal floor; many states layer additional requirements on top. California's Title 24 mandates additional sign sizes and ISA usage; Texas adds requirements through the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS); Florida supplements via FBC Section 11. ADACheck applies the right overlay automatically once you select your state.
